Rakesh Jhunjhunwala’s Airline Gets NOC From Government

India to get a new Airline company next year. The government of India gave a nod to airline start-up Akasa, which is backed by billionaire Rakesh Jhunjhunwala. This new airline is expected to start operating from summer 2022.

Akasa Air got a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the aviation ministry. It will now apply for an air operator permit from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

It is reported that the company will order bout 100 Boeing 737, Max. These aircrafts have got permission from DGCA recently.

Aviation veteran Vinay Dube has been appointed as CEO of Akasa Air. In a statement, Dube said that Akasa Air aims to become India’s most dependable, affordable, and greenest airline.

“We are extremely happy and grateful to the aviation ministry for their support and for the grant of the NOC. We will continue to work with the regulatory authorities on all additional compliances required to successfully launch Akasa Air. we believe having a robust air transportation system is critical for our nation’s progress,” stated Dube.

“It is this belief that has motivated us to create a modern, efficient, quality-conscious airline. Moreover, Akasa Air will serve all Indians regardless of their socio-economic or cultural backgrounds warmth, inclusiveness, and respect. Because at the end of the day, it is these qualities that connect people and cultures and help Indians realize their dreams,” he further added.
