Trump To Suspend H1-B, L-1 & Other Work Visas?

As US President Donald Trump started his campaign rally for his re-election, the incumbent leader has made an appealing announcement to their citizens. Trump’s administration is likely to suspend the temporary work visas to foreigners.

While speaking to a news channel on sidelines of his campaign rally, Donald Trump said “We’re going to announce something in a day or two on the visas.”

With a view to protect the interests of US citizens who are struggling with rise in unemployment rate because of COVID-19 pandemic, the President of United States is expected to announce new immigration restrictions.

According to media reports, President Trump is expected to sign an order suspending H-1B, L-1 and other temporary work visas through the end of the year.

However, his detractors say that Trump is utilising pandemic situation to achieve his long-term objective of restricting the immigrants into US.

Right from the start of his tenure, Trump has been tough on his stance and this decision will certainly become crucial to his campaign for the re-election. During the Covid-19 period in April, US President issued an order to temporarily block some foreigners from achieving permanent residence in the US.
