Subscription Prices: Amazon Goes Up; Netflix Comes Down

Streaming giant Netflix is the most expensive OTT service among all its competitors. Finally, it has decreased its subscription prices in India. Netflix India took this decision just when Amazon Prime Video increased its annual subscription plan in the country.

The existing Netflix users will witness savings up to 18 to 60 per cent with the revised plan prices. Netflix Mobile plan used to cost Rs. 199 per month in the past. From today, it will be Rs. 149 per month.

Netflix ‘Basic’ Plan, which used to be worth Rs. 499 per month (480p resolution) will be available now at just Rs. 199.

Netflix ‘Standard’ Plan, which allows users to stream the content in 1080p resolution used to cost Rs. 649 per month. It has been now reduced to Rs. 499.

The ‘Premium’ Plan (4K HDR resolution) was available at Rs. 799 in the past and is now available at Rs. 649 per month.

Netflix took this strategic decision after Amazon Prime Video hiked its annual subscription charge from Rs. 999 to Rs. 1499.
