West Indies cricketer Chris Gayle congratulated India which is celebrating its 73rd Republic Day on Wednesday. Gayle’s wishes to India was not unusual but he disclosed a special message he received from none other than Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“I would like to congratulate India on their 73rd Republic Day. I woke up to a personal message from Prime Minister Modi @narendramodi reaffirming my close personal ties with him and to the people of India. Congratulations from the Universe Boss and nuff love,” tweeted Gayle.
Well that’s interesting that PM Modi dropped a text message to the Universe Boss. What could be in that message? We might not get to know about it for now but Gayle’s connection with India is something we will always cherish.
With IPL, Gayle amassed a huge fan base here and over the years he entertained every cricket fan. Ironically Gayle has kept himself out of this year’s IPL mega auction and so his availability is in doubt.
