Every year during the Ganesh festival, the auction of Laddu fetches lakhs and lakhs of Rupees to the Ganesh Utsav committee. Balapur Laddu is pretty famous in the twin cities. Last year the Balapur Laddu was sold for a record price of Rs 17.60 Lakh but this year there is going to be no auction.
The Balapur Utsav committee met today and have taken a few key decisions on how to go on with the festival and its celebrations this year. The committee has decided to establish only six feet idol this year and the rituals will be performed only on the inaugural day of the idol.
Also the committee has cancelled all the daily rituals, poojas and devotees would not be allowed for visiting. Lastly the committee has decided not to auction the laddu and the Shoba Yatra, the decision will be taken depending upon the situation then.
Overall, Corona has badly hit the country’s biggest festival too.
