Covid-19 India: Deaths Touch 40K mark

India achieved another unwanted milestone in the global pandemic Covid-19. The total death has touched the 40K mark and currently the death count is 40,699. India is the fifth nation in the world to report 40K deaths.

In the last 24 hours, 56,282 new positive cases have been filed while 904 people have died. 6,64,949 samples were tested yesterday while the total samples tested so far are 2,21,49,351. The COVID tally of the country rises to 19,64,537 including 5,95,501 active cases, 13,28,337 cured/discharged, said the Union Health ministry in its daily bulletin.

The recovery rate of India stands at 67.19 percent while the fatality rate is 2.09 percent.

The state of Telangana reported 2092 new positive cases while the total cases is at 73,050 and total deaths are 589.
