In a horrific incident, a 20-year-old girl on a scooter died after being hit by a car but was dragged for around 13 km in the outer Delhi area.
The police arrested five occupants of the car, the residents of the Sultanpuri area who were going for a night snack. They claim that they did not realize that the woman was stuck to their car. The woman worked at wedding functions as support staff and was returning home when the accident happened.
The woman was found without clothes on her body and was stuck in the wheels on the co-driver’s side. Police reported that the back of the woman was completely broken and her ribs were visible. She even had serious injuries on her forehead, hands, and legs.
Police responded to the call they received saying a grey color Baleno car moving towards Qutubgarh and has a body attacked to the wheels. At around 4 am, police got another call reporting a woman’s body found lying on the road. She was taken to the hospital and doctors declared her brought dead.
The accused said they were going on a narrow lane and a girl approaching her scooter met with an accident. They did not stop as no one raised an alarm and they kept driving. When they realized that something was stuck in the car wheen and found the woman’s body after driving for a few kilometers. They removed the body from the car and fled the scene.
The woman was unmarried and lived with her family. She is survived by her mother and five siblings. The woman’s mother suspected that something was wrong as she did not have clothes on her body. The police too suspected that she was first raped and killed before being dragged. But they now made it clear that it was an accident.
