Goa is undoubtedly the top new year destination in India. But things seem to have changed this year. Another city has taken over the beach stay and surprisingly it is not anything like Goa. It is Varanasi.
Oyo’s founder and CEO Ritesh Agarwal tweeted on December 31 this fact. He wrote, ‘Bookings from Goa are rising by the hour. But guess the city that is overtaking Goa? Varanasi.’ He also wrote that Oyo is nearly sold out across 700+ cities globally.
It looks like people are more inclined towards the religious city and finding peace and happiness in it than that in Goa or Kerala.
2022 also saw a massive number of tourists traveling to Shimla, and Manali as Covid cases declined.
