Hyd Student Kills Best Friend Over Love Triangle

In a disturbing incident, a triangular love affair resulted in the brutal murder of a final-year engineering student by his long-time friend and another final-year student from a different college. The accused, identified as Harihara Krishna, aged 21, confessed to strangulating his friend, Nenawat Naveen, aged 22, to death and dismembering his body on February 17 at Ramadevi Public School in Pedda Amberpet. The incident came to light a week later when Krishna surrendered at the police station in Abdullapurmet, on the outskirts of Hyderabad.

According to the FIR, the incident occurred due to Krishna’s jealousy and anger towards Naveen, who continued to call and message a girl with whom Krishna had fallen in love. Naveen and the girl had been friends since their intermediate college days, but the girl had ended things with Naveen and grown closer to Krishna. Naveen’s attempts to woo her back angered Krishna, who warned Naveen to stay away. When Naveen ignored his warning, Krishna invited him for drinks and ultimately killed him at the school premises.

After the murder, Krishna mutilated Naveen’s body, separating his head, private parts, fingers, and even removing his heart, before dumping the parts in different places near the school. Krishna, a resident of Moosarambhagh and a student at Aurora Engineering College in Peerzadiguda, has been booked under Section 302 of IPC as well as SC and ST (prevention of atrocities) Act and sent to judicial remand.

Naveen’s father, Shankar, approached the police on February 22, complaining about his missing son and naming Krishna as a suspect because Naveen had told him about his quarrel with the accused on the fateful day. Shankar, who works in Odisha, and his wife demanded quick justice. The police are still searching for all of Naveen’s body parts.

The incident has sent shockwaves across the country, and it highlights the dangers of uncontrolled jealousy and obsession in relationships. It is a reminder that individuals must respect other people’s choices and avoid resorting to violence to deal with emotional turmoil. The police have urged people to come forward and report any such incidents, and they are taking strict measures to ensure that justice is served.
