Stay Away From ‘WhatsApp Pink’ Scam

Scammers come up with interesting concepts and baits and there is this ‘WhatsApp Pink’ app that all smartphone users should be aware of.

A WhatsApp forward with a link to a pink theme version of the app seems to be received by many users on WhatsApp. It claims to be the official version of WhatsApp with a pink theme and new features to download.

The fact is that ‘WhatsApp Pink’ is a malicious app that can steal your data like banking details, OTPs, photos, and contacts. WhatsApp Pink scam is not new and it was found to be a fraud app in 2021 but is still being forwarded.

Android users are advised to download and install apps from trusted sources like the Google Play store. iPhone users need not worry as Apple does not allow apps to be installed from unknown sources.

Once the app is installed, it might hide itself from the list of installed apps. In case you installed the ‘WhatsApp Pink’ app already, here is how to uninstall it from the device.
