In a tragic incident on the Mumbai-Nagpur Expressway, a bus caught fire resulting in the death of at least 25 people and multiple injuries. The accident occurred around 2 am on Saturday while the bus was en route from Yavatmal to Pune. The injured individuals are currently receiving medical treatment at Buldhana Civil Hospital, according to the police.
The bus, carrying 32 passengers, including a wedding party, met with the accident due to the rainy conditions. As a result of the crash, the diesel tank of the bus ruptured and caught fire, leading to a devastating inferno. Baburao Mahamuni, Deputy Superintendent of Police in Buldhana, confirmed the incident and provided information about the casualties and injured victims.
Authorities have initiated efforts to shift the injured individuals to Buldhana Civil Hospital for immediate medical attention. The exact cause of the accident is under investigation, but the prevailing rainy weather conditions likely contributed to the unfortunate incident.
The local authorities and law enforcement agencies are working diligently to manage the situation and provide support to the victims and their families.
