Viral Video At Railway Station: Rip Humanity!

An incident at Pune Railway Station has sparked outrage and widespread condemnation on social media.

A video circulated on Twitter shows a police officer pouring water on people who were sleeping on the platform floor. The footage depicts the officer, presumably a Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel, dousing a group of individuals, including a Swiggy delivery agent and an elderly man, with water to wake them up.

The video quickly went viral, garnering over 3.5 million views and drawing criticism for the officer’s perceived lack of empathy and inhumane behavior.

Twitter users expressed their outrage, with many condemning the officer for treating the sleeping passengers with disrespect. The incident raised concerns about the officer’s actions and the state of compassion within the country. The video’s poster lamented the loss of humanity, while others highlighted that no level of frustration could justify such behavior from a police officer.

In response to the viral video, senior railway officials, including Pune’s Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Indu Dubey, expressed regret over the incident. DRM Dubey acknowledged the inconvenience caused by people sleeping on the platform but stated that the manner in which it was handled was not an appropriate way to counsel passengers.

The incident has sparked a larger conversation about the treatment of individuals in public spaces and the need for empathy and understanding from law enforcement officers. It serves as a reminder of the importance of addressing such incidents and fostering a more compassionate society.
