AP Bans Mobiles In Schools For Students & Teachers:

In a significant move, the Andhra Pradesh state government has banned the usage of mobile phones in the schools. The order is not restricted for the school students. It also restricted the usage of mobile phones for the teachers in the classrooms.

It asked the teachers to handover their mobile phones to the headmaster before going to the classroom. The AP state education department has passed the orders. It said the orders were based on the UNESCO’s Global Education Monitoring Report. 

The Education department said it took the decision only after consulting with the Teachers Unions and other stakeholders. The government stated that strict punishment would be taken against those who violate these rules in the schools. I

t said disciplinary action would be taken against the violators. The education department also said the school principals and education department higher officials should ensure the rules are implemented strictly in the schools.
