Aus Cricketer Dean Jones Dies In Mumbai

Former Australian cricket Dean Jones has reportedly passed away due to cardiac arrest. The 59 year old is in Mumbai for the broadcast of IPL 2020 wherein he is part of an experts panel that streams before the start of the match.

Dean Jones was part of Australian team’s road to the title in the Cricket World Cup 1987 held in India. But one innings has defined Jones that changed his career. Jones played a remarkable innings for Australia in the tied test match that took place in Chennai in 1986-87. He scored 210 runs but he was hospitalised after that innings because of the hot Chennai weather.

As soon as this news broke out the entire cricket community is sending their deep condolences to the family members.

Team India coach Ravi Sastri took to his Twitter and wrote, “Really shocking to lose a colleague and a dear friend – Dean Jones. Gone so young. Condolences to the family and may his soul rest in peace #RIPDeanJones.”
