Sri Lanka is currently grappling with a nationwide power outage attributed to a system failure, causing disruptions in internet services across the island nation.
The breakdown of the Kotmale-Biyagama transmission line is reported to be the root cause of the power outage. The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB), the country’s power monopoly, is actively working to rectify the situation and restore power.
The outage is primarily linked to a technical issue in the transmission line, and efforts are underway to reinstate power within the next two and a half hours, as confirmed by CEB spokesperson Noel Priyantha.
