The rape and murder of a 20 year old Dalit woman in Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras is still a big headlines all over the country. But the BJP government in UP is trying everything to suppress the issue. Now that the case has reached the court, the family of the victim want justice at the earliest.
Just when the victim’s family is looking for a legal counsel, a ray of hope comes in the form of advocate Seema Kushwaha. About her, Seema had fought the 2012 sensational gang-rape and until the culprits were hanged to death, she fought till the last minute.
Seema was supposed to meet the family members of Hathras rape victim today. However, the police have denied her permission citing law & order problem. “The family (of alleged gangrape victim) has called me to Hathras as they want me to stand as their legal counsel. I’m not being allowed to meet them as administration says it’ll affect law and order situation,” said Seema.
Yet Seema said she would definitely take up the case and make sure justice is served to the family of Hathras. We all wish that Seema should succeed and at least this case will be an eye opener.
