All private school managements (state, CBSE, ICSE) in Hyderabad district have been ordered not to sell uniforms, shoes and belts, books, notebooks and stationery at the school counters.
Even if they wish to sell them, they should be on a non-commercial, no-profit-no-loss basis.
Further, all the DEOs are requested to constitute mandal-level committee to monitor and ensure that private school managements do not sell uniforms, shoes and belts, etc. on the school premises.
As per the court orders, sale of uniforms, books and stationery at the school counter, even if any, should be on a non-commercial, no-profit no-loss basis. In case of any such activity, it should be brought to the notice of the concerned District Educational Officer.
The parents have also been advised not to buy uniforms, shoes, belts , books from the schools.
This move is being hailed by educationists and parents of many students as they feel that it is a check on the extortion of the school managements.
