IPL 2020: Manish and Vijay Shankar Set-up A New Record For SRH

Last night, Sunrisers Hyderabad got a dominating victory against Rajasthan Royals, all thanks to the 140 runs partnership between Manish Pandey and Vijay Shankar. This is the first time two Indian batsmen have made a partnership of 100-plus runs for Sunrisers since their debut in IPL in 2013.

SRH had 23 100+ stands since 2013. All of them involved a foreign player, mostly David Warner. This is the first time two Indian batters gave a proper century stand to this team. This will be a welcoming gesture for the team while everyone was criticizing their weak middle-order. Manish Pandey’s unbeaten 83* and Vijay Shankar’s 52* helped Sunrisers to win the game and survive in the race of the playoffs. Meanwhile, Vijay Shankar’s 52 in 51 balls is the lowest fifty made by any batsman in this year’s IPL.

While chasing a target of 155, SRH lost the wickets of David Warner and Jonny Bairstow inside the first three overs. When their score was 16/2, Pandey and Shankar brought back their team from the trouble by building this sensational partnership. The duo’s form has now strengthened the confidence of the team.
