Bumrah and Kohli Share A Special Connection

Jasprit Bumrah is currently one of the top class bowlers in world cricket. With his unorthodox bowling action and deadly yorkers, Bumrah has become an impeccable bowler for India. He was shot to fame when he debuted in Indian Premier League in 2013. Since then, there was no looking back for him. Last night, Bumrah picked up his 100th wicket in IPL and joined the elite list of bowlers taking 100 IPL wickets. Here are some more interesting facts around his landmark achievement.

  • Bumrah’s 1st IPL wicket is of Virat Kohli. He dismissed Kohli on April 4, 2013, in Chinnaswamy Stadium. Coincidentally, Bumrah’s 100th wicket is also of Virat Kohli where he dismissed the Indian skipper in Abu Dhabi last night.
  • Bumrah is also the third Mumbai bowler to take 100 wickets for the franchise. Lasith Malinga and Harbhajan Singh are the two other bowlers who achieved this feat for Mumbai.
  • Bumrah is the 16th bowler in IPL history to take 100 wickets in the league. He took 89 matches to get this landmark achievement.

*Bumrah is the seventh Indian pace bowler to get 100 wickets. The other six players are Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umesh Yadav, Ashish Nehra, Vinay Kumar, Sandeep Sharma and Zaheer Khan.
