For the last few days, all of India has been anticipating and awaiting the arrival of the second part of Pushpa. The film finally hit theatres yesterday, December 5, and started on a bright note at the box office.
However, in concerning development, a real life, Pushpa scene was emulated in Mangalagiri now. Much in tune with the theme of Pushpa, a substantial red sandalwood smuggling operation was underway, and it was tactically busted by Mangalagiri Police.
As per reports, the local police had busted a sandalwood smuggling activity after having apprehended a lorry carrying sandalwood logs hidden in between paper bundles. Two men associated with the smuggling activity were nabbed by the police, and they are in custody now.
The combined value of this red sandalwood logs is said to be around ₹3.5 crore. Shockingly, over 1.2 tonnes of sandalwood was being illegally transported from Tamil Nadu to West Bengal in the disguise of paper bundles.
While in the film Pushpa, Allu Arjun could successfully blindside Shekhawat, the police officer and somehow smuggle Sandalwood to the destination, the ones caught in real life in Mangalagiri weren’t as lucky or smart.
Needless to say, the Mangalagiri constituency is one of the high profile jurisdiction in Andhra Pradesh as it is represented by IT Minister and TDP scion Nara Lokesh. So in accordance the security arrangements in this constituency will be on an elevated scale
