13 Dead, 99 Rescued In a Ferry Capsize At Gateway Of India

Thirteen persons died in a boat capsize incident at Gateway Of India in Mumbai today.

A Navy craft lost control and hit a ferry off the Mumbai coast. A Naval personnel and two others on the Naval speedboat died in the incident.

The ferryboat was carrying passengers from Gateway Of India to Elephanta Island.

The Navy craft was undergoing engine trials and lost control. It collided with the ferry Neel Kamal with about 110 people on board off Karanja, Mumbai. 99 survivors have been rescued.

The search operations and rescue efforts for the missing persons are ongoing by the Indian Navy and Coast Guard.
