Woman Loots Three Men Through Marriages

Named ‘looteri dulhan’ by the police, a woman has been arrested for marrying a series of men and collecting a total of Rs 1.25 crore from them, as part of settlement process.

The arrested, Seema aka Nikki, a native of Uttarakhand, first married a businessman belonging to Agra in 2013.

After some time, she filed a case against her husband’s family and took Rs 75 lakh as part of a compromise.

In 2017, she married a software employee from Gurugram and took Rs 10 lakh from him to part ways with him.

In 2023, she married a Jaipur-based businessman but later fled the home with jewellery and cash worth Rs 36 lakh.

Following a complaint from the family, police arrested Seema.

Usually, women play the victim role in many marriages but Seema had shown how women too can monetise from the institution of marriage.

During interrogation, Seema told the police that she looked for her victims on matrimonial sites, and preferred men who were either divorced or had lost their wives.

Getting married in different states, she collected a total of Rs 1.25 crore as settlement from her ‘husbands’.
