In this context, Hyderabad residents are advised to be watchful of the regulations that are in place in the city.
Particularly Hyderabad police are looking to enforce the drunk driving regulation in a very strict and unforgiving manner today.
Starting from 8 PM today to 7 in the morning tomorrow, Hyderabad Police will be extensively holding driving operations across the city.
Those who are caught in the drunk driving test will be fined Rs 10,000 and a possible 6 month jail term for first offence. Those who are caught for the second time will be fined Rs 15,000 along with the jail term and also a 3-month suspension on the driving licence.
Hyderabad police are going particularly hard against drug consumption as well. An elaborate drive will be held to detect drug consumption amongst general population in pubs and public gatherings across the city today. Non-bailable cases will be filed against drug consumers and there will be serious repercussions for the same.
