The number of devotees visiting the Tirumala temple has been consistently increasing every year. In 2024, the income from the temple’s Hundi has seen an unexpected rise, thanks to a large number of devotees visiting the temple, offering donations, and presenting hair offerings.
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) revealed that the Hundi income for 2024 has reached a staggering ₹1,365 crore, which is a significant increase from the previous year.
According to TTD’s latest reports, a total of 2.55 crore devotees visited Tirumala to have darshan of Lord Venkateswara last year. The number of devotees presenting their hair offerings has also reached record levels, with 99 lakh people offering their hair as a symbol of their devotion.
Additionally, nearly 6.3 crore devotees received the famed “Annaprasadam” (free food), which indicates the extensive outreach of services provided at the temple.
As per TTD’s statistics, a total of 12.14 crore laddus were sold in 2024. The special significance of the Lord’s laddus and the immense demand for them was once again evident. These laddus have become an iconic symbol of the Tirumala temple, contributing to its brand recognition.
Along with the increasing number of devotees, the level of donations has also risen significantly. With this record-breaking income, TTD is likely to implement new plans to further enhance the participation of devotees and improve the services offered at the temple.
