Delhi Capitals will face Mumbai Indians in the finals of IPL 2020. They have won Qualifier 2 against Sunrisers Hyderabad by 17 runs tonight in Abu Dhabi. After a humiliating loss in the Qualifier 1, Delhi batsmen came back strong in this match and posted a total of 189 runs on the scoreboard. Sunrisers Hyderabad tried to chase the total but failed to reach it due to the failure of the top-order batsmena.
Delhi’s skipper Shreyas Iyer won the toss and elected to bat first. He got the exact start he wanted as openers Marcus Stoinis (38) and Shikhar Dhawan (78) went all guns blazing against the bowlers of Sunrisers. They have made a partnership of 86 runs for the first wicket. After that, Dhawan made formidable partnerships with Shreyas Iyer (21) and Shimron Hetmyer (42*). With a stunning effort from the batsmen, Delhi posted a huge total of 189/3 in 20 overs.
SRH seemed to be off the track in this chase right from the beginning. The team has lost the crucial wickets of David Warner, Manish Pandey and Priyam Garg right in the powerplay. Then, Kane Williamson (67) made valuable partnerships with Jason Holder and Abdul Samad (33). His clinical knock raised expectations among SRH fans. However, when he was dismissed, SRH’s loss became quite certain. Rabada (4/29) scalped three wickets in the 19th over and confirmed Delhi’s finals berth. In the end, SRH scored 172/8 in 20 overs and ended their IPL 2020 campaign.
