Watch: Lighting Flaw in Pak Stadium Revealed Before Champions Trophy

The stage is set for the start of the champions trophy this month in Pakistan and the related arrangements are completed already. However, there is one major flow that has been identified in the newly constructed Lahore cricket Stadium.

This major flow has something to do with the lighting arrangement inside the venue, which has become a problem for players. This got exposed in the New Zealand versus Pakistan match at the Lahore cricket Stadium last afternoon.

In the second innings while Pakistan was batting, there was this one incident when New Zealand player Rachin Ravindra was on the outfield. This was when a ball was hit into the air towards Ravindra, and he positioned himself to take the catch.

However, probably due to the poor lighting arrangement inside the stadium, he could not get the right perception of the ball. Consequently, he was struck right on his nose by the fast travelling ball.

This led to a medical situation as Rachin Ravindra kept bleeding profusely after being hit by the ball. He was taken off the pitch as he was bleeding from his nose and needed immediate medical attention.

This incident letter to the complaints about the lighting arrangement inside the venue as players found it very hard to get a good perception of the ball. If this situation continues in the coming days, the players who are playing at these cricket venues could find it very hard to field on the outfield and there’s a chance they could get injured.

Pakistan Cricket hasn’t reacted on this matter yet. But with just days to go for the start of the tournament(Feb 19), this incident has become a topic of discussion. But luckily for India, the men in blue will not have to play in these stadiums as they will be playing their games in UAE.
