Telangana is all set to host the most prestigious 72nd edition of the Miss World pageant. The grand event is scheduled to take place from May 7th to May 31st in the state. Julia Morley, the chairperson and CEO of Miss World Ltd alongside Smita Sabharwal, the principal secretary to tourism, culture, heritage and youth affairs confirmed the same yesterday.
Interestingly, the events will take place across the state, with the opening ceremony and the grand finale scheduled to happen in Hyderabad. The other events will be held in other parts of the state. The new winner will be crowned by Krystyna Pyszkova from Czech Republic, who won the title last year.
The participants from over 120 countries and territories will be competing for the title.
“India’s youngest state, Telangana has made rapid strides and giant leaps in the first decade of its birth. Today it stands out for its robust infrastructure and excellent connectivity, featuring one of the world’s best airports, year-round pleasant climate, prestigious educational institutions, a thriving IT-enabled services sector, global pharmaceutical hub with massive health infrastructure and a bustling film industry. “Its reputation for safety and tourist friendliness, and a thriving international ecosystem, makes it an ideal destination for tourists, both from India and across the globe,” read the announcement on Miss World orgaisation’s website on Wednesday.
Nandini Gupta, the winner of Femina Miss India World 2023 will be representing India in this year’s Miss World pageant.
