Rayudu Mocks Celebs, Says They Attend Matches for Publicity Stunt

Former cricketer Ambati Rayudu has stirred controversy with his comments on celebrities attending the India-Pakistan Champions Trophy match in Dubai. Rayudu commented that the celebrities attend matches only to gain attention in the media. The statement that quickly went viral and drew backlash from netizens.

Rayudu said, “The celebrities and film stars come to cricket matches so that they will be seen on TV. It is just for publicity.”

Among those present at the match were Megastar Chiranjeevi, director Sukumar, AP Minister Nara Lokesh, and MP Keshineni Chinni and others. While many prominent figures and industrialists attended to support Team India, Rayudu’s comments suggesting their motive was media attention angered fans.

Social media users slammed his remarks, questioning his stance and calling them unnecessary. However, the debate continues, with opinions divided over whether his remarks were justified or merely an attempt to stir controversy.
