US President Donald Trump came up with a new idea that offers foreigners US residency.
Donald Trump’s administration plans to offer a ‘gold card’ that would confer legal residency to foreigners at a cost of about $5 million. This gold card program would replace an existing US visa (EB5) program for overseas investors.
President Trump and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick told reporters that this program would also allow corporations to purchase US residency, commonly known as a ‘green card’ for high-skilled or highly educated employees, suggesting it might replace some kinds of work visa.
It’s gonna be a route to citizenship, and wealthy people will be coming into our country. It is going to be giving green card privileges plus. Generally speaking, it will be people with money and people that create jobs’, said Trump.
