UP Horror: Parents Demand Death Penalty For Their Daughter

The entire nation is shaken by the brutal murder of Saurabh Rajput in Brahmpuri near Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. Saurabh Rajput (29), a former Merchant Navy officer turned bakery shop employee in London, was murdered by his wife Muskaan Rastogi (27) and her paramour Sahil Shukla (25) on March 4th. Saurabh returned to India on February 24th to celebrate Muskaan’s birthday. Saurabh and Muskaan had a 6-year-old daughter.

On March 4th, Muskaan drugged Saurabh’s dinner, and after he fell unconscious, Muskaan and her lover Sahil Shukla dismembered his body in the bathroom with a knife and a blade. They later sealed the remains in a plastic drum with cement. After murdering Saurabh, the lovers left for Shimla and got married in a temple before returning to UP after two weeks.

Saurabh and Muskaan had a love marriage in 2016. Saurabh was shunned by his affluent parents as he married against their wishes. On the other hand, Muskaan and her boyfriend Sahil Shukla knew each other since school days and reconnected on a school WhatsApp group. Both the accused killers have been sent to 14-day judicial custody.

In a heart-touching gesture, the victim Saurabh’s in-laws and Muskaan’s parents demanded capital punishment for their daughter and her lover Sahil. “My daughter told me what she did to Saurabh. He was a very kind boy, and he loved our daughter very much. My daughter has lost her right to live,” said Muskaan’s mother, Kavita. On the other hand, Muskaan’s father, Pramod, told the media that his daughter is not fit for society and is dangerous to everyone. “I would advise everyone not to take such extreme steps. She should be hanged till death, and if possible, it should be telecast live.”

However, Saurabh’s mother, Renu Devi, alleged that Muskaan’s parents were aware of her son’s murder. “My granddaughter (Saurabh and Muskaan’s daughter) told us that “Papa was kept in a drum. She might have seen the murder. Muskaan’s parents knew about my son’s murder. Her entire family and her lover must be given the death penalty,” said the grieving mother.
