What’s The Controversy Behind Rippling co-Founder’s Divorce?

Rippling co-founder Prasanna Sankar levelled serious allegations of adultery against his wife, Divya Sashidhar, which have gone viral on social media.

Rippling is a $10 billion HR-tech startup in the US. Sankar and Parker Conrad founded the HR management and employee data and operations platform in 2016.

Tech entrepreneur Sankar said that Divya, a US citizen, had made false accusations of rape and domestic violence against him, as part of an acrimonious divorce and custody battle over their son.

Prasanna is also a tech entrepreneur and an angel investor, who now runs a Singapore-based “social network for crypto natives” 0xPPL, launched in 2023.

Extra-marital affair

Prasanna revealed that their marriage fell apart after he gained knowledge about his wife’s six-month-old extramarital affair with one Anoop.

Though it began as a divorce and child custody case, gradually it turned into a bitter conflict involving allegations of harassment, extortion, police misconduct, financial fraud, and sexual atrocities.

Prasanna absconding

Currently, Prasanna is on the run from Chennai police, alleging harassment and extortion by the police. He alleged that the cops were demanding Rs 25 lakh to release his friend, Gokul, and even threatened to foist false charges against him if he failed to reveal Prasanna’s whereabouts.

Prasanna also alleged that his wife was also involved in extortion. He also accused Divya of abducting their son to benefit in the divorce case. Prasanna said that his wife pressed false cases against him because she was not happy with the alimony settlement.

While Prasanna filed for divorce in India, Divya initiated proceedings in the US for more alimony.

Divya and Prasanna first met at the NIT-Tiruchirappalli (Trichy) and married 10 years ago.

WhatsApp Conversation with Anoop

Prasanna also made public a WhatsApp conversation between Anoop and Divya.

“Can you buy a condom XL size and keep it?”

Divya messaged Anoop on WhatsApp.

He continued, “It’s in Guardian, Watsons, or 7-Eleven maybe. These are convenience pharmacy stores.”

“Don’t reply to these texts. I’ll delete them now. All on Orchard Road,” She added.

Prasanna and Divya signed an MoU under which the former agreed to pay Rs 9 crore and Rs 4.3 lakh per month in financial support. They settled on a 50-50 custody arrangement for their son.

As Divya had filed false cases against him, police have been illegally tracking his cell phone location, UPI transactions, car and IP address, without filing any FIR.
