IPL 2025: Travishek Deliver Sensational Win For SRH

Sunrisers Hyderabad, who were in the last position of the points table, took on in-form Punjab Kings tonight at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. It was Hyderabad which won the game by 8 wickets.

Toss: PBKS won the toss and elected to field first

First Innings:

Punjab openers Priyansh Arya (36) and Prabhsimran Singh (42) gave a stunning start to their team on this flat pitch. Both of them made a partnership of 66 runs in less than four overs. Finally, Harshal broke the partnership. But that didn’t stop Punjab from scoring big. After Priyansh Arya got out, captain Shreyas Iyer (82) built good partnerships with Prabhsimran and Nehal Wadhera. In the process, he also scored his half century. In the death overs, SRH bowlers bowled tight and didn’t allow PBKS to score big. However, Shami conceded 27 runs in the last over in which Marcus Stonis (34* off 11 balls) hit four sixes, which helped Punjab score a massive 245 runs in 20 overs. Harshal Patel (4/42) took four wickets for SRH.

Second Innings:

SRH needed a massive opening partnership to chase this mammoth total, and they got exactly that from Travis Head (66) and Abhishek Sharma (141). The duo made a partnership of 171 runs and staged their team for a historic victory. While Abhishek Sharma scored his maiden IPL hundred, Head shone with a half-century. After they got out, Henrich Klaseen and Ishan Kishan completed formalities and made SRH win by 8 wickets by scoring 247/2 in 18.3 overs.

In a nutshell:

SRH has been very disappointing this edition, even though they had a sensational batting lineup. Those batters were able to do well only in the first game and failed miseRably in the next four games. But in this game, they came back stronger and in style. Head and Abhishek proved why they are considered one of the deadliest openers in T20 cricket. Their solid partnership made things easy for SRH. Abhishek played a knock of a lifetime and missed 150 by a whisker. Punjab will be disappointed by this defeat, but they can’t do anything on such a flat pitch. This win will give a massive confidence boost to SRH after four straight defeats.

Up Next: Punjab Kings will play against Kolkata Knight Riders on April 15. SRH will face the Mumbai Indians on April 17.
