Former U.S. President Donald Trump has repeatedly mocked American pop star Taylor Swift over the years, and the feud continues. It all began in 2018, when Swift publicly expressed her political views, which clashed with Trump’s policies. Since then, Trump has taken multiple jabs at the singer. Most recently, he posted on social media saying:
“Has anyone noticed that, since I said, ‘I hate Taylor Swift,’ she’s no longer ‘HOT?'”
Over the years, Swift has openly criticized Trump’s right-wing policies and divisive rhetoric. She once stated that Trump would eventually lose power — and as she predicted, Joe Biden won the presidency.
Interestingly, Trump had earlier posted in 2012 that he took a photo with Swift, though the picture was never seen online. That same year, he also commented on her breakup with Conor Kennedy, tweeting, “Re: Taylor and Conor – great news for Taylor!”
However, the tension truly escalated in 2018 when Trump remarked, “Let’s just say I like Taylor’s music about 25% less now, okay?” — a comment that drew widespread criticism.
In another instance, when Trump released a song titled Justice for All, he boasted that it reached the number one spot, surpassing Swift’s music.
After Joe Biden dropped out of the 2024 presidential race, Trump once again targeted Swift. He said:
“Joe Biden didn’t do anything for Taylor, and never will. There’s no way she could endorse Crooked Joe Biden, the worst and most corrupt President in the history of our country, and be disloyal to the man who made her so much money. Besides that, I like her boyfriend, Travis, even though he may be a liberal, and probably can’t stand me!”
In the same year, Trump made a confusing comment on Swift’s appearance while talking about Joe Biden:
“I think she’s beautiful — very beautiful! She probably doesn’t like Trump. I hear she’s very talented. I think she’s very beautiful, actually — unusually beautiful!”
When Swift endorsed Kamala Harris, Trump responded by saying he was never a fan:
“I was not a Taylor Swift fan. It was just a question of time. She’s a very liberal person; she seems to always endorse a Democrat, and she’ll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace.”
This statement upset many of Swift’s fans, even though some had shown support for Trump in the past wearing “Swifties for Trump” T-shirts at rallies.
In September last year, Trump officially declared that he “hates” Taylor Swift.
The situation worsened again in February this year. During the 2025 Super Bowl, some people booed Swift when she appeared on the screen. Trump wrote:
“The only one that had a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift. She got BOOED out of the Stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving!”
Today, Trump reignited the drama by claiming that Swift is “not hot anymore.” With millions of devoted fans, Swift holds significant influence, especially among younger voters. As the feud intensifies, it remains to be seen whether Taylor Swift will respond this time.
