A major accident took place in Gujarat on Wednesday morning after a bridge collapsed due to heavy rainfall. The bridge, known as the Gambhira Bridge, connects Anand and Vadodara districts. Reports confirm that three people have died after the structure suddenly gave way.
Several vehicles, including two trucks and two vans, fell into the Mahisagar River when the bridge collapsed. Emergency rescue teams were immediately sent to the location, and at least four people have been rescued so far, according to Padra police inspector Vijay Charan.
Due to this incident, transport between Anand, Vadodara, Bharuch, and Ankleshwar has been severely affected. Traffic has been completely halted, and authorities are working to find alternative routes for commuters.
Congress leader and opposition head Amit Chavda raised concern on social media, urging the government to speed up rescue operations and ensure safer roads and infrastructure across the state.
This is yet another bridge collapse in Gujarat in recent times, raising questions about the quality and maintenance of public infrastructure.
