Almost every metro city in India has pretty poor drainage system, and Hyderabad is not immune to this either. Same to be understood from the viral videos from last evening, where torrential rains hit the city and wreaked havoc.
Several parts of Hyderabad, including the urban pockets of Gachibowli, Madhapur RTC X Roads and other areas were badly hit by strong rains last evening.
In a set of viral videos, we see several urban pockets in Hyderabad, being completely flooded with roads replicating swimming pools. Shockingly enough, the RTC X roads flyover was also flooded with water, as strange as it may sound.
The city got waterlogged in many areas while commuters faced a lot of problems due to the traffic issues and water flooding on the roads.
This has called for better drainage planning in the city as the public have been saying waterlogging issues have been pretty common these days and that needs to be changed. But considering the urbanisation and concrete forest that has been created, finding an effective solution is going to be a tough task.
