AI Will Take Over Your X (Twitter) Timeline!

Elon Musk’s social media platform X will soon be entirely powered by artificial intelligence.

The shift to AI is mainly to give a personalise and relevant user experience. This means your X timeline would not have random viral posts or contents, which are not wanted by you.

To enable this customized experience, X’s AI chatbot Grok would be utilized and the feed on X will be fully AI-driven by November or December.

“The algorithm will be purely AI by November, with significant progress along the way,” Musk posted on X.

In addition, the algorithm will be open-sourced every two weeks, enabling users and developers see exactly how the feed is curated.

Musk retweeted a post by X Head of Product, Nikita Bier. The switch to AI is aimed at making the X feed more personal and relevant to the user, instead of being crammed with posts irrelevant to the user. This would help X to focus on building niche communities where users can explore their interests.

Bier’s post stressed on X’s vision to move away from mainstream algorithmic feeds and political content. The users should be able to view and share posts of their interests and interact with people who share the same interests, so as to have a meaningful experience. AI-powered feed will also give control to the user on what they see.

She posted: “The goal for your X timeline is to get out of the mainstream algo and the political crusades and find your niche,” she wrote on X. “You should be able to post about your interests and have friendly, relevant people chime in.”

Musk unveiled a new feature for Grok, allowing it to ‘read aloud’ responses in a human-like voice.  This update was shared by an X user @amXFreeze who tweeted about the enhancement. Musk retweeted the post.

In July, Musk revealed that X will now let AI write Community Notes, aimed t expediting the fact-checking process and retaining only genuine information for the users.
