In certain parts of India, it is a common tradition to buy new cars and electronic gadgets during the Navratri season. Many people see it as a sacred practice to buy new stuff during this famous Dasara procession.
This Dasara madness hit a new high as it is being established that luxury car maker Mercedes Benz has revealed that they sold 10 Benz cards for every hour during the 9-day Navratri period.
In a media interview, Mercedes Benz, India chairman Santhosh Iyer revealed that the company sold one Benz car for every six minutes during the Navratri period. The average price of the sales was ₹1 crore. Statistically speaking, Benz made one crore every six minutes during the festival period
It was further established that the company had recorded the best ever sales in India during the nine days period. A total of 2500 cars were delivered by Benz in the 9 days of the festival period which is again an unprecedented number for the leading auto manufacturer.
This is also partly due to the fact that luxury car makers cut down 6% on the ex showroom price due to the new GST reforms were introduced by the Indian government.
Indians are very particular about their sentiment, and this is again on display during the festival season.
