Hyderabad’s Shamshabad Airport witnessed major chaos for the second day as several IndiGo flights faced technical issues and staff shortage. Multiple flights scheduled to Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai and Delhi were either delayed or cancelled, leaving passengers in a difficult situation.
Nearly 2000 passengers were stuck at the airport with no clear updates. Many passengers waiting for international connections missed their next flights. People travelling for visa interviews and important meetings also faced severe trouble. IndiGo staff at the counters were unable to provide proper answers, leading to arguments between passengers and employees.
Reports indicate that IndiGo has been struggling with a combination of technical glitches and shortage of pilots, which affected its network across major airports. Flights from Bengaluru and other cities also saw large scale delays. The disruption has spread across the country, with over 200 flights cancelled in the last 24 hours.
Passengers at Hyderabad expressed anger over sudden cancellations and the lack of information. Many complained that they received updates only after reaching the airport, causing more confusion. The situation remained tense as the airline continued to work on restoring normal operations.
