Don’t Forget These Tips In Sankranthi Home Travel

It is a common practice for the settlers’s population in Hyderabad to travel back to their home towns in Andhra Pradesh and other neighbouring states during the Sankranthi festival season.

The same trend is being witnessed now as the larger population has started to travel to Andhra with Sankranthi holidays starting from Saturday. This is the principal reason why massive traffic jams are being observed at the Vijayawada bound highways.

Coming to the topic now, there are a series of tips that can be followed by the common public to avoid getting stuck at the highways during this festival period.

The primary point is to fill the petrol tanks in the vehicles much in advance. Considering the massive volume of the vehicles on the highway, it is tough to find a quick petrol stop during the journey.

The second point is to always avoid the shortcuts surrounding the villages on the highway. Considering that everyone wants to take a shortcut by these villages, the chances are that these roads are also completely blocked by overenthusiastic drivers.

Third point is that the driver must be mentally and physically prepared for almost double the general travel period. A journey of 5 hours under usual conditions might take 10 hours now due to the slow movement and it is important to stock up sufficiently on food and water supplies.

The fourth point is that bike travel might be marginally better as there’s no need to stop at the toll collection booths and the ability to manoeuver under traffic conditions is also good.

Having the FASTag wallet sufficiently recharged is also important as last minute delays will lead to black listing of the tag and also double payment by cash.
