The kind of peculiar situations that the software employees have been finding themselves has been a point of concern in the recent past. While several companies have already mandated work from office culture, a few companies are imposing new restrictions on work from home employees.
In this context, the latest communication from Infosys to its employees has grabbed the all over as the company has asked for electricity bills from its WFH employees.
Reportedly Infosys leadership has sent out emails to several employees working from home to share their electricity bills as a part of the company’s going standing “sustainable workload” emphasis.
This energy neutral operational procedure taken up by Infosys has been in existence for the last 15 years and the company has started to take it to a whole new league now.
Reportedly Infosys is saying that the company has been tracking the usage of Electricity for its official purposes and wishes to cut down on the same in near future. Subsequently, the employees are asked to share their electricity bill details to see their usage patterns and assess the impact the company is having all over.
There is no reason for the employees to be sceptical or scared of the electricity usage details for now as this isn’t a part of the company restructuring program. For now, this is just a measure that is being used by the company to assess its impact on the environment by calculating the energy load put by their employees who’re working from home.
