Valentine’s Day: Beware Hyderabadi Youth!

The occasion of Valentine’s Day is finally here as people across the globe are celebrating this day of romance and love to the fullest capacity. But at the same time, adequate caution must be exercised, particularly in urban city across India, including Hyderabad.

Incidentally, the Telangana cyber security department has instructed the common public to be very aware of the situation as there are several scams happening in the name of Valentine’s Day.

Reportedly scammers are utilising dating platforms to attract male and female individuals and expert money from them by using compromising pictures and videos later. This has been a constant menace for the police authorities and particularly saw during the Valentines period.

It was established by the Telangana cyber security department that as many as 3000, cyber stalking incidents were reported in 2025 during the Valentine period. Subsequently, the authorities are cautioning the public to be aware of the situation and avoid such scams now. Reportedly, common people lost over Rs 12 crore to these scams in 2025. 

Also, the authorities are pointing out that the Hyderabad youth must be very careful about intimacy and also procuring gifts and Valentine special items as several fraud and fake websites are coming up in the name of offers. 

The occasion of Valentine’s Day might be romantic on paper, but it comes with its own set of risks and Hyderabad youth are instructed to be careful and considerate of the environment.
