History repeated itself in the ongoing T20 World Cup as India once again defeated arch rivals Pakistan by a comprehensive margin. India’s unrelenting dominance over Pakistan is increasingly turning this contest into a one sided affair rather than a fierce rivalry.
Pakistan won the toss and elected to field first. Batting in the first innings, the Men in Blue posted 175 runs, thanks to Ishan Kishan’s blistering knock of 77.
In response, Pakistan needed 176 runs on a tough Colombo pitch but never looked in control. India was absolutely brilliant with the ball and restricted Pakistan to just 114 runs.
India won the game by a margin of 61 runs and continued their dominance over Pakistan in ICC tournaments across formats. This is yet another resounding victory for India against Pakistan, which has almost become a formality in recent times.
With this win, India has officially qualified for the Super stage and is in pole position to win the T20 World Cup for the second time in a row.
