It is already known that the Indian government had taken pretty strong and progressive measures against adult content circulation and creation in the country.
In this connection, the government had already imposed a strict ban on p*rn websites in the country, citing the recent antisocial and women-abusive culture that has been growing.
And now, the latest developments are suggesting that leading social media platform X, formerly Twitter has also imposed a strict ban on adult content on their platform.
In this regard, a social media user asked X’s AI bot Grok to explain the geo blocking of the adult content in India and here’s what it had to reply to the same.
“Starting today (March 3, 2026), X has geo-blocked consensual adult/sexual videos in India only, to comply with government regulations on obscene content.
It’s still allowed globally elsewhere on X if properly labeled as sensitive (not in prominent spots or aimed at kids/unwilling viewers).” The clarification read.
This is a part of the larger implementation of the Indian government, whether they have been taking pretty strong measures against adult and p*rn content circulation on social platforms. But at the same time, this might come as a rude shock to those who had been consuming such content on social platforms.
