Villagers Cannot Book Gas Cylinder Without a 45-Day Gap?

It is already known that the Indian population has started to panic about the availability of LPG cooking gas, and this has reached a treacherous point now. This is now followed by a big announcement made by the government of India regarding the new waiting period for gas cylinders.

As per national media reports, the latest communication from the government of India regarding the waiting period for LPG gas cylinders in the rural and urban areas does not make for a good reading.

It is confirmed in principal that the waiting period for gas cylinders in urban areas is extended to 25 days from the existing 21 day period. Alongside, the waiting period in rural areas has been extended to 45 days.

This would essentially mean that the people staying in urban pockets in the country will have to wait for 25 days from the rate of booking the cylinder while those in villages will have to wait for 45 days.

This comes shortly after the government confirmed in principal that the country has adequate gas resources and supply for the next 70 days. But this New clarification confirms that people will have to wait for a long period of time before getting delivery of these cylinders.
