No Call, No HR, Just Email: 30K Jobs Lost!

One of the biggest mass layoffs in the tech industry has started officially today as it is being reported that tech giant Oracle has started to fire its employees at an aggressive rate.

Starting from 6 AM in the morning, Oracle employees had reportedly been receiving cold emails about the ongoing sizing down operations within the company and they’re notified that they’re no longer employed at the company.

Reportedly several employees had noted that the company did not call them through the phone on this matter. Neither did the HR invite them to a meeting or anything as such. All they got was an email that notified them about their termination and their severance packages.

Oracle has a global human workforce of around 1,62,000 and the company is reportedly planning to fire as many as 20,000 to 30,000 employees. Several of these employees could be working in India as well.

It is being established that the HR department or the managing leadership are not getting in touch with the employees and this termination is being held in a very redundant and mechanical manner.

It must also be noted that other giants like Amazon and Meta had also been firing thousands of employees in a similar manner as the mass layoffs in 2026 are far worse than initially expected.
