Youngsters are spending more time in courtship to understand their partners but failing to get close as they are giving no second thought to break the relationship or end it by suicide within just a few days after entering the wedlock.
In a shocking incident, a young techie died by suicide at her residence in Miyapur, Hyderabad unable to bear the ‘harassment’ by her husband over extra dowry. She was found hanging from the ceiling fan in the hall of their apartment on Thursday.
According to the police, Ishika Yadav, 26, belonging to Bihar, befriended Neeraj Bansal, a native of Madhya Pradesh through a social media platform in 2020. Since then, they had been in a live-in relationship and in February this year, they tied the knot with the consent of their families. Neeraj is also a software professional.
Ishika’s family alleged that Neeraj had been harassing them and their daughter for additional dowry after launching a start-up. Finding no way to get out of the trouble, Ishika took the extreme step. Her family members alleged that Bansal’s family also subjected their daughter to physical and mental harassment.
Ishika’s family lodged a complaint against Neeraj and his family. Police shifted her body to Gandhi Hospital for post-mortem. Investigation is on.
