The nature of some of the cases regarding live in relationships in the recent past has been disgustingly to say the least. Incidentally, the Delhi High Court had to deal with one such situation with regard to a live in relationship couple’s story.
The lady in question here who had been in a live in relationship with her male partner for many years has now filed a case against him.
This lady was apparently with her male partner for many years without marriage, and the couple had a child together. Now she has approached the court by saying that her partner cheated on her in the disguise of marriage and filed a rape case on him.
The court, which was led by justice Naga Ratna took serious note of this case and questioned the lady what was she expecting from this relationship of as many years. “Relationship might be illegitimate but the child is not illegitimate. If there was a marriage, her rights would have been better.”
The court questioned the need for the woman to be in a live in relationship with this man and have a child with him before marriage. It was pointed out that what was her intention in this relationship of so many years and now filing a rape case all of a sudden.
It is shocking to see such victims who had been in relationships with men for many years and even had kids before filing rape cases against them. They might have appoint on their side, but the non-existence of marital relationship will change the dynamic completely, as was observed today.
