Bengaluru: 7 Killed After Hospital Compound Wall Collapse

The sudden rains during sweltering Summer season have resulted in a heartbreaking tragedy in Bengaluru as seven people lost lives in an unexpected manner. As per preliminary reports, at least seven people, including three children, have been killed after a compound wall collapsed near the Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital.

The incident happened due to heavy gusts accompanied by sudden squall with hailstorms. The victims were reported to be taking shelter under the wall to prevent themselves from rain along with many others. Unfortunately, the wall came down crashing down, resulting in fatalities on spot with hardly any chance to escape the accident. All seven people were killed on the spot even before the rescue teams arrived.

As soon the incident happened, police teams and emergency services personnel rushed to spot with an earthmover to bring out the bodies and the injured from the debris with the help of locals. But, seven people have died and many others have been severely injured.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah also announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh for the families of the deceased individuals. The exact reason for the sudden collapse is yet to be ascertained and investigation is currently underway.
