A native of Hyderabad, Thaturi Ravi (alias Charan Yadav or Nikhil Yadav), was arrested from Nampally for impersonating a police constable inside the Telangana Secretariat.
Posing as a constable for the CM’s security, the 31-year-old man from Amberpet entered the Secretariat in the evening on April 26, 2026, by using a fake identity. Allegedly, he visited the Secretariat with his wife and requested the security personnel to allow him take a selfie on the premises. Trusting his words, the police allowed him inside.
On entering, he shot a reel inside the Secretariat and posted it on Instagram, to build a fake identity. Dressed in full uniform, he claimed he could arrange meetings with the CM without prior appointment, as he has ‘links with political leaders’.
Investigation revealed that Ravi Yadav worked at Goshamahal police stadium canteen and developed an obsession towards the police profession witnessing the authority and control associated with the police uniform.
Saifabad police registered a suo motu case against Yadav and seized uniforms, accessories and a mobile phone from Ravi. He was produced before the court and sent to judicial remand.
