Hyderabad is generally regarded as one of the safest metropolitan cities in all of India, but there are the certain disturbances that tamper with the safety spirit. We now have the case of Malkajgiri Commissioner of police, Sumathi who carries out a brave operation to combat this.
Sumathi, who had taken charge as the commissioner of Police, Malkajgiri, got to know about the movement of antisocial individuals harassing women late in the night. She immediately got into action on the very first day on the job.
According to the latest media reports, Sumathi took up a mufti avatar and stood on the streets late in the night last night. This was when something antisocial happened as multiple male individuals approached her in guise of prostitution.
Apparently, as many as 40 unsuspecting individuals had approached Sumati, who was in the disguise of mufti. They did not know that she was the Commissioner of police in the area and approached her for physical contact.
The police immediately got into action and took all 40 individuals into custody. They were all counselled and educated later. Shocking thing is that several of these individuals are reportedly students.
The female police commissioner took this brave decision of taking to the streets late in the night to create public awareness on a burning topic. This is very productive and during decision from the top female cop in the Hyderabad ranks.
